I offer mindfulness-based coaching to help you create a foundation for healing, consent, and a deep sense of belonging. In my practice, mindfulness includes embodiment/somatic practices (awareness of the breath and body), insight (awareness of emotions and thoughts), and compassion. My belief is the embodied self-awareness we awaken in the practices of mindfulness, insight, and compassion provides the basis for more authentic relationships with ourselves, others, and the world around us.
It is a little ironic that mindfulness is called ‘mindful’ when the practice actually lets us give our minds a break and remember the wisdom held in our bodies. Many of us spend a great deal of our time in our heads, tuning out our bodies for various reasons including trauma, relational patterning, and the general stress of everyday life. Learning to re-attune to our bodies and respond to ourselves with compassion can initiate a powerful cascade of personal growth and discovery, enabling you to live and love with generosity, freedom, and intention.
The effort of mindfulness practices isn’t necessarily to ‘clear’ or ‘quiet’ our minds. Although the mind may indeed get quiet and clear, sometimes there’s chaos in there! It’s ok – I promise. It’s still working. Just giving yourself the space and time is meaningful.
Mindfulness empowers us to hold space for what is present both inside and around us, bringing particular awareness to the embodied sensations of our experience. Whereas our amazing storytelling minds might be inclined to problem solve or analyze, mindfulness teaches us to hold space for what is alive for us. As we develop a greater capacity to be with what is present, our self-awareness grows, and we can connect more deeply with ourselves and others. This sense of connection, grounded in self-trust and compassion, is fundamental to how we lead, love, and play.
Mindfulness practices can be done anywhere and anytime for any length of time. There is no right or wrong way. It's just your way, in your time, and I can help you create your road map.
